No.1 malatang Central plaza Introduce
For residents, shoppers, and office workers across New South Wales seeking a quick, satisfying, and highly customisable Asian lunch in the heart of the Sydney CBD, **No.1 Malatang Central Plaza** offers a unique and flavourful solution. As an Asian restaurant, its primary focus is on Malatang, a popular Chinese 'pick-and-mix' street food that translates to 'numb and spicy hot pot.' This concept allows diners full control over their meal, choosing their preferred ingredients which are then cooked quickly in a flavourful soup base. It's an ideal choice for a casual dining experience that is both warm and nourishing.
Located within the busy retail and commercial hub of Westfield Sydney Central Plaza, the restaurant provides a straightforward and efficient service model perfectly suited to the fast pace of the CBD. Customers appreciate the opportunity to select a wide array of vegetables, proteins, and noodles, offering a healthy alternative to typical fast food. One patron noted their appreciation for being able to 'get a lot of veggies but without eating the awful raw salad!' This focus on cooked, wholesome ingredients in a delicious broth is a major drawcard.
The ordering process centres on selecting the weight and variety of ingredients, followed by choosing one of the distinct, signature soup bases. Available soup bases include the Nourishing Mushroom Soup, the Hearty Tomato Soup, the classic Malatang broth, the exotic Coconut Laksa Soup, and the rich Original Beef Bone Soup. This variety ensures that every dietary preference, from vegetarian to deep savoury meat bases, is catered for. Furthermore, while the spiciness and numbness of the soup base itself are noted as non-adjustable, a dedicated sauce bar is provided, allowing customers to perfectly fine-tune their bowl with options like Sesame Peanut Butter, Chili Sauce, Garlic Sauce, Vinegar, Sugar, and Salt.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Good soup but not the thick version as other stores. The lady at the counter was friendly. Pay by cash would get 10% off. Always love Malatang bc you can get a lot of veggies but without eating the awful raw salad!
May 03 · Alison GTotally unsatisfied with the customer service!I ordered dry malatang but the lady gave my order with classic ox bone soup. I even went there and said i ordered dry malatang and also i don’t eat beef, the reaction was not friendly at all. On top of that, she separated the soup and gave me the same thing in 5 seconds. And i have to reorder everything. They make my order in 5 minutes which doesn’t look good at all. I’m very disappointed with the customer service over there.
December 01 · Oscar BickyI have been to this store's sister stores many times. The service at all stores is not good. There are a lot of reviews about the poor service.I like malatang♡♡I would be happy if I could dine there with better service.
July 09 · masako nagaoGreat soup but not the best I have ever had but definitely a nice bowl of soup prepared to order and better than other items in foodcourt. I like this place given there isn't much in the CBD for Malatang soup.
February 06 · Sydney SiderI often buy from this store, but this is the first time I experienced being disrespected by one of your staff at the cashier. Maybe she forgot to hand me my number right away since I was turned away looking at drinks in the fridge. To get my attention, instead of calling me, she loudly knocked the buzzer number on the table. That was very rude of your staff.
